The “2nd International Conference on Fire Protection of Structures”, held in Thessaloniki, attracted great interest especially from Engineers from Northern Greece. International and Greek speakers presented proposals for the improvement of the regulatory process.
Mr. Franklyn Okwara, Fire Engineer, on behalf of the European Modern Building Alliance, contributed to the conference by presenting the Modern Building Alliance’s proposed regulatory framework for “Fire Safe Buildings”.
His talk entitled “The role of fire safety engineers in the building design process: an architect’s investigation of fire safety competence” was given in the context of Module G “Building Fire Protection: future challenges”.
