Συνέδριο ΕΛΙΠΥΚΑ 2022

The “1st International Conference on Fire Protection of Structures”, held in Athens, attracted great interest. The focus of the conference was the new Greek Fire Protection Regulation for Buildings, Presidential Decree 41/2018. This is a new regulatory approach, which is based on a more stringent regulatory part and, alternatively, allows a performance-based approach.

International and Greek speakers presented proposals to bridge the existing gaps to improve the regulatory process and develop Fire Safety in the building sector.

Exterior Insulated Facade Systems (ETICS) and the need for the evolution of Fire Engineering were high on the agenda.

Dr Diane Daems, on behalf of the Modern Building Alliance, gave an overview of a European and national regulatory framework based on the B.I.O. framework and the 7 levels of fire safety in buildings.
